"Wrecked" by Killbot (Forthcoming on Dim Mak Records)

Help Killbot on Reddit:http://www.reddit.com/r/dubstep/comments/1158le/worldpremiere_of_killbots_wre…

Dark and grimey with a haunting, nefarious swagger, Killbot’s debut release on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records serves as a bold entrance into the world of EDM. Harnessing filthy, hyped-up sound-design and combining it with sharp, gritty vocals, Killbot ruthlessly annihilates all competition and eliminates any and all doubts that their name will be written in this history of dance music. Composed of JDevil (Jonathan Davis of KORN), Sluggo and Tyler Blue, Killbot will has arrived and is about to show you the true meaning of “Wrecked”.

Esic - Self-Titled EP

Article by Mitchell Buchanan

Download the Full EP: http://www.facebook.com/EsicOfficial/app_220150904689418

Dubstep has embodied many forms over the course of it’s short but highly volatile life-span. As it continues to evolve, some artists try to find new sounds and others stick with an working formula. Esic, an Amsterdam-based producer, falls somewhere in the middle. New to the scene, with his first track emerging on SoundCloud about a month ago, Esic’s music is influenced by minimalism but its heavily-layered construction adds a considerable amount of mood and depth to each track. Combine minimalist-based composition with innovative sound creation, and unrivalled production skills, and you’ve got yourself Esic’s brand-new EP – out now, for free, through Esic himself. Fans of bass music can rejoice at this triple-threat of dubstep and D&B, all produced with Esic’s incredible eye for detail. We hope this is just the beginning for the Dutch producer – because after listening to this, we want three
hours of this stuff, not just three tracks!

Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Scott Pitcock, better known to the world as Butch Clancy, wasn’t always mixing heavy bass with melodic lyrics. In fact, Butch got his foot in the door weaving rap and hip hop beats over a decade ago, under the moniker Scott the Engineer. After running solo as The Engineer, Pitcock started a hip hop production team called “Beatzzeria” with Anthony Diem. But after some complications about four years ago, the team went their separate ways and the bass crushing alter ego of Butch Clancy was born.

Arkasia - “New Born” (Heavy Artillery Recordings)

Article by Mitchell Buchanan

Many artists across the music recording industry create new music after a few months or even a few years since their last release. They have time to relax, go on tour, and to do whatever it takes to get ready for writing and recording new material. But how many times have you picked up a new record, listened to it, and thought “this song sounds EXACTLY like a track off their first record?” I’m always impressed when an artist can create new, inventive material that’s just as addictive as their previous works – and today, that artist is Arkasia. With an outrageously impressive musical background preceding him, Arkasia has released several albums over the past year. But on August 27, he will release “New Born”, a vibrant 8-track record from Heavy Artillery Recordings that pushes far beyond the limits of anything he’s ever done before.

Red Rocks is a geologically formed, open-air Amphitheatre that is not duplicated anywhere in the world. With Mother Nature as the architect, the design of the Amphitheatre consists of two, three hundred-foot monoliths (Ship Rock and Creation Rock) that provide acoustic perfection for any performance. Red Rocks has hosted the world’s elite musicians including U2, Celine Dion, Metallica, and Coldplay. On a special weekend each year, Red Rocks is home to one of the largest music festivals in the Rocky Mountain United States.

Every summer the world’s premier dance music artists travel to Colorado to play for thousands of music enthusiasts under the open sky at Red Rocks. With over 20 years of combined nightlife experience, Ha Hau and Kostas Kouremenos, created GDF to celebrate the evolution of electronic music. The show has evolved into a massive gathering of people from all over the United States. It is the only event of its kind in the Rocky Mountains. Dilemn - “Talk About Us” EP (AudioPorn Records)

Dilemn - "Talk About Us" EP

Article by Mitchell Buchanan

Musical evolution is a tricky thing. As artists develop a “sound,” their fan base grows around that particular sound or genre. So when an artist deviates, there’s usually significant outrage at the prospect of experimentation or music evolution. Sometimes, a producer “suggests” that a band moves their sound into a more “popular” direction; this is often met with resistance from long-time fans who recognize that the move isn’t typically made because of creativity – it’s made because of that sweet, sweet prospect of money. But then there are artists who experiment for themselves. There’s no “evil intent” behind the switch; it’s done simply because the artist feels like trying something new. And usually, the artist also knows that the experiment is going to sound pretty damn good at the end.

REDNEK - “One Year Later” LP

REDNEK - "One Year Later" EP

Article by Mitchell Buchanan

If there’s one thing that can be said about London-born producer Rednek, it’s that he’s dedicated… In every possible way. Whether it’s dedication to thousands of loyal fans, dedication to his “dubstep rockstar” lifestyle, or dedication to absolute sonic perfection, there’s no denying that Rednek isn’t one to let something slip by him. After a year of producing and touring, one would think a new album would feature only the newest and hottest tracks – but Rednek’s first full-length, released on June 18, includes some of the earliest fan favourites mixed in with his incredible new material. Rednek’s career has grown exponentially over the past year, and that’s in part thanks to his 19+ years of producing and performing music. But it’s also thanks to an ever-growing fan base – something he recognizes and actively appreciates. “One Year Later” isn’t really about Rednek at all; it’s about the fans. And that’s why this 12-track collection combines the old with the new – showcasing what we can expect in the future, but always remembering to include the tracks and experiences that got Rednek to where he is today. Full of his signature grimy, distorted synths, stuttering triplet-to-eighth-note transitions, and rapid-fire laser blasts, “One Year Later” is a solid collection of tracks that prove Rednek has found a definitive sound and he’s sticking with it. It’s bold, but it’s an honourable statement to make.
